Parent and child – knelt down – Saggar Fired Ceramics

This deeply moving, hand-sculpted ceramic family group by Totnes ceramicist Mandy Race beautifully embodies the essence of protection, comfort, and unconditional love. The abstract, fluid figures lean intimately toward one another, their interlocking forms creating a powerful sense of unity and shared warmth. Hand-built with a beautiful tactile quality, the piece has been subjected to the dramatic alchemy of saggar firing. This traditional method infuses the raw clay surface with an exquisite, organic network of ocean-blue washes, smoky carbon greys, and subtle sandy blushes, mirroring the weathered beauty of Devonian coastal stones. Both visually striking and emotionally resonant, this one-of-a-kind sculpture brings a loving, serene and grounding energy to any home.

Dimensions are: 11cm x 9.5cm
