Calmness at Low Tide – Framed Acrylic Painting

This serene abstract seascape painting by Diannah Lowry beautifully captures the tranquil, reflective atmosphere of a quiet shoreline. The composition features a vast, textured sky in a soothing teal-blue hue, which transitions downward into a horizontal band of low-tide flats and shimmering shallow waters. Near the left-center, the minimalist, gestural silhouettes of two sailboat masts rise vertically against the sky, serving as the central focal point. The lower half of the canvas mimics wet sand and gentle reflections using a delicate palette of cream, beige, soft taupe, and subtle hints of lavender, layered with visible palette-knife strokes and textured impasto. Accents of deep brown and earthy tones trace the shoreline, adding a striking sense of depth and rustic contrast to this evocative, coastal artwork. Reminiscent of the Exe or Teign estuaries close to where this artist lives.
